League Philosophy:  The Chester/Mendham Girls Lacrosse league is a non-profit, recreational lacrosse club.  We maintain that there is a place for everyone in this program, regardless of skill, experience or athletic ability.  The league emphasizes that the competition at this level is instructional.  We stress learning a love for the game, as well as skills and rules of play.  Good sportsmanship on the part of all players, coaches and fans is always the standard.

Registration Fees/Timing:  The registration deadline for all teams is February 15th.  Any registrations submitted after this date will automatically be charged an additional $50 late fee and will be accepted as space allows. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE!

2nd/3rd/4th  grade clinic/team:  $110
5th/ 6th, 7th/ 8th grade teams: $135

*Note that on-line registration requires a credit card.  If you are unable to use a credit card, please contact us at girlsregistrations@cmlax.org These fees include the $25 US Lacrosse Youth Membership fee (see below for more details). Please note that should you wish to withdraw your child from the program prior to March 1st, we will refund your registration fee (by check) minus the $25 US Lacrosse fee and a $10 processing fee.  After March 1st, there will be no refunds.

A Welcome Night "Face Off" for the Chester/Mendham Boys' and Girls' Lax Clubs will be held at Mendham High School from 5:00 - 7:00PM on Sunday, February 21st.  This is for BOTH parents and kids.  Current high school players will be there to play some lax with the kids, while parents get valuable information from coaches about the upcoming season.  Universal Lacrosse will also be there selling new equipment at great prices!

US Lacrosse Youth Membership:  The New Jersey Junior Lacrosse League requires that each player, coach and program have US Lacrosse Association insurance and membership.  League games will not be sanctioned under US Lacrosse Youth Council guidelines without this coverage due to liability concerns.  Therefore, Chester/Mendham Youth Lacrosse requires that all players be registered.  This membership provides the league insurance and players a subscription to the quarterly magazine Lacrosse.  To simplify the registration process for you, we have integrated the US Lax registration form and payment into our league’s registration.  We will forward your payment to the US Lacrosse Association. 

Lacrosse Season:  The season begins in March 7th for 5th-8th grade  (beginning indoors at the Indoor Sports Pavilion) and runs through the first week of June.  2nd/3rd/4th grades will begin outdoors in April.  Team coaches will contact players via e-mail to confirm practice days/times prior to the start of the season.

Game/Practice Frequency:  At the 2nd/3rd/4th grade levels, practices are 1-2 times per week.  At the 5th – 8th grade levels, practices and games are typically two to three times per week.  Lacrosse is a game that requires skilled, safe play and good teamwork learned through regular practices.  Attendance counts!!

Required Equipment:  All girls are required to provide and wear their own protective eyewear (goggles), colored mouth guard and cleats.  A regulation-sized, girls stick is also required. Starter equipment packages are available at Universal Lacrosse.

Uniforms:    The 5/6 and 7/8 teams will receive team jerseys and skirts.  A $65 deposit check will be required at the time of distribution which will be held until the uniform is returned at the end of the season.  The checks will not be cashed unless the uniform is NOT returned.  The 3/4 team will receive game shirts to be worn with navy blue, Chester/Mendham Girls Lax shorts that will be available for purchase in the Spring. 

Volunteer Positions:  The Chester/Mendham Girls Lacrosse Club is a non-profit organization.  In order to keep the fees down as we have over the years, this program depends on volunteers.   Please volunteer to assist the league or contribute an additional $25 when registering.
